About the Candidate

Chris's Story

Christopher is a lifelong Linesville resident, having graduated from the former Linesville High School in 2006 and subsequently from Allegheny College in 2010 with a double major in Political Science and Music.  Early in life, he developed a love for his hometown and the area in which he lived, and desired to find ways to give back and contribute to the community that had given him so many opportunities growing up.

In 2005, he launched a successful bid for Mayor of Linesville Borough and was re-elected in 2009 as both the Democratic and Republican nominee in recognition of his bipartisan, consensus-building style of governing.  Christopher joined the Linesville Borough Planning Commission not long after and is currently serving as vice chair of that body, where he assisted with the formulation of the 2022 Conneaut Valley Boroughs Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan as well as the upcoming Linesville borough zoning and subdivision and land development ordinance re-writes.  In 2011, he was elected to the post of Linesville Borough Auditor without opposition.

In 2013, following a vacancy in the office, Seeley was appointed to serve as one of three Crawford County Auditors.  He went on to win the office outright in 2015 and again in 2019.  He currently serves as department chair and has strived to modernize and streamline the operations of the office.  He has diligently worked to forge new interoffice partnerships and to expand the involvement of the Auditors’ Office in county policymaking and general operations.

Christopher is a regular instructor and advocate for county auditors across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He is a past president and longtime executive board member of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Auditors and is often called upon to present on behalf of the office of county auditor and to assist in training and coaching his colleagues around the state.

Christopher is a dedicated public servant both in and out of his occupation.  He currently and in the past has served in leadership positions with many organizations across the region including the Rotary Club of Meadville, Pine Masonic Lodge, Greendale Cemetery Association, the Meadville Area Middle School Martin Luther King Jr. Mentoring Program, Meadville Community Theatre and the Academy Theatre, the Crawford County Democratic Committee, as well as numerous other fraternal, service, and non-profit entities.  Chris is also serving his third 4-year term on the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local #17 Erie musicians' union.  When not on the job for the county or a club or organization, he enjoys performing music, hunting and fishing in the beautiful Pymatuning Lakeland region, and traveling across Pennsylvania in search of outdoor and culinary adventures.

Christopher recognizes that success rewards those who are willing to work for it, and it is this work ethic and dedication to the people of his community that he pledges to bring to the office of Crawford County Commissioner.
